Mommy: Hame?
Me: HAME!
Mommy: What sort of-
Me: It's a Scots word!
Elise: YOU SAID JUST ENGLISH!
Me: Well, Scots is English, kinda. *grabs dictionary, starts flipping*
Mommy: And what does it mean?
Me: It means home. Rabbie Burns used it... uh... well, he must've... hana, hamilton, hamal - HAME! SEE!

oh.

"Either of two curved pieces lying upon the collar in the harness of an animal, to which th traces are fastened...."

Mommy: Well! If you'd just said that!

This struck me as funnier than it was, so I ran to post it.

Hm. I wonder if wabe is in this other dictionary in my room...?

I dropped "tuque" playing Scrabble the other day. Although I think "coag" was the more controversial play.... ;)

That distinctly reminds me of "laurel", Jenn's word that one day. The space between the bill and the something of a duck, LMAO.
