My family is phone-cursed. Seriously.

Jenn's phone got dropped in a toilet about a week ago, and it worked kinda since then, but now it's fading, and fading fast. Nobody can hear her talking, she can't hear them.

We need either a new phone (new meaning new to us, used works just fine) or *maybe* a headset - but there's no guarantee that'd work. Of course, nobody can afford any such thing. Of course. If anybody can help us out, we'd be thrilled. These phones are one step short of a necessity, since none of us has a landline. The provider is Verizon.

(We also need 3T and 12 month cold weather clothes, used rocks, but that's somewhat less urgent. If anybody's sent any, it never came - I can't remember if any should've.)

The Gz'One is a nigh-indestructible phone, offered by Verizon Wireless.

You know who had too many kid's clothes (NICE stuff too), more than they could give away? The Quakers, last Sunday of every month, they had a clothes closet thing, and a dinner. I wish I was still there, I'd pick up stuff for you, they usually had to wind up donating it because the greatest need was for men's clothing, not kids stuff, but a lot of members had kids. (And lived in Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights so some pretty nice stuff there.)

Yeah people just walk in, they have 70-100 people come for the meal, and people usually hit the clothes first and then sit to eat so if you just get the clothes and walk out I don't think anyone would care or notice. Or you can sit and have chili, too. It's wait service, not cafeteria style.

Hmm. I have a Verizon phone I just replaced. It's 2ish years old, but otherwise works mostly fine (it does have a habit of randomly not ringing, or rebooting instead of ringing). < href="http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=241">This guy right here.

Daniel just had to go buy a new phone today too. All of a sudden his phone looked like it'd been run over by a truck, but neither of us have any idea what happened. Maybe he's secretly related to you.

I do have a very basic old Verizon phone I found the other day while cleaning. I'd be glad to donate it to you. It doesn't have a charger, but it's Motorola and when I was using that phone we were able to find a charger at the dollar store. But I have no 12 M cold weather clothes. :P Only t-shirts.

Are you on freecycle? There's a group on Staten Island (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/statenislandfreecycle/). In my group there are Wanteds for used cell phones pretty frequently, and most of the requests are filled because most people get new phones every year or two when they get a new contract, and the old ones are just lying around. And kids clothes are exchanged constantly. You should be able to get all of that pretty easily.
