The other day, I was at (where else) the SICM for the toddler program. We were all eating our lunches, and the baby was wandering around attempting to mooch food off of other people. Successfully, I might add - doesn't anybody ask anymore?
So I go up to the woman with the baggy of pretzels, cheerios, and goldfish crackers and say "It's okay if she has some -"
Her: Oh, she asked for some!
Me: ...
Yeah. I know. And it's okay if she has the pretzels or the cheerios, she just can't have any dairy, it makes her sick.
Her: Okay! *starts handing the baby a few goldfish crackers*
Me: WTF??? *steals crackers from the baby, gives her something else*
No, ma'am (please note the spelling here - two A's, one apostrophe), she can't have any dairy.
Her: That's dairy?!?!?
Now, I can't find out much useful from the goldfish website (once again, everybody, with feeling - just because you *can* make your entire site flash-based does not mean you should!), but I did find out that they're inordinately proud of the fact that their crackers are baked "with real cheese".
So yes, they're probably dairy.
(In truth, the pretzels probably contained dairy as well, I don't know, and at any rate I doubt one goldfish would really make the baby sick - but that's not the point. I already know she still reacts to dairy, and can people think a little please?)
(As for the post on self-image, that relates to something else, will clarify later)

Honestly, don't people think to ask anymore??? And she was a grandmother, shouldn't she be more on top of things?
