With an extra spooky ending.

Quebec municipalities

Used annoying computer machines for the last province wide series of municipal elections.

I seem to recall the machine spitting mine out and the embarrassed, confused volunteer having to resubmit it.

Friday I got a generic letter from the provincial government, apologizing for the hundreds of incidents of failure, admitting that such machines proved to be 10% more expensive than our traditional paper ballots would have been and that henceforth Quebec would return to traditional paper ballots.

I love living in Canada. =)

I love Jason. He reminds me of the guy who introduced me to Foxtrot *points to icon*, when he was about Jason's approximate (perpetual) age. I'll treasure my Foxtrot collections he gave me way back then.

And that's scary indeed. The ones here are all electronic. I don't know if anyone around here is shady enough to tamper with it, but *shudders* as sleazy as Bob Corker and his supporters are, I wouldn't be surprised if someone here or remotely did so. Just do a Google search on "Bob Corker" and you'll see how whacko this guy is, and you'll understand why I've been ranting about him so much. Here's his actual website. Yeah, it's pretty bad. Oh, I transferred to an out-of-state university and graduated there, and then I traveled with my husband (and soon will again) with his various jobs. I guess that disqualifies me as a "real Tennesseean!" Oh, nevermind that I was raised here and know the northeast corner by heart even in some remote backroads.

There are a few issues that I agree with Corker about, at least in theory what he says there, like decreasing dependence on oil (though he of course emphasizes FOREIGN oil) and protecting the environment. But everything else...NO RUN AWAY!
