Two ear infections.

Had to rush her to the doctor today, poor dear. (And then they had lunch late, and naps late, and everybody was miserable. Poor ME!)

She got a prescription for antibiotics, but I don't know if they're going to fill it, most ear infections clear up without help. But it's good to have the prescription, so we don't have to rush to the doctor again if it's decided that no, this one needs medication to treat.

The day wasn't *all* bad. I got to help somebody with their wrap (well, the person wasn't there, but her husband was, so I showed him how you'd put it on for a cradle hold, and directed him to a few websites), and that's always fun. And helpful. I like to be helpful, within reason - and being *asked* for help is definitely within reason :)

But really, between the ear infection and the baby being sick (recovering, unlike Ana was), and ME being sick, and the rain, and the plane crash... not a great day.

you mentioned that your neice got antibiotics for her ear infection but you might not use them. What things to do you use to help with ear infections? My son is not sleeping because of ear infections and it is recommended that he gets tubes in his ears. I hate the thought of the surgery, but it may be important to do it. I just want to help with the amount of infections and pain in the mean time.

Time, mostly - most ear infections clear up on their own, with no intervention necessary.

However, that doesn't apply in every case - chronic ear infections require different treatment, for example.

I'm not a doctor, and I'm not Ana's guardian, and it's not a subject I know *that* much about, so I'm afraid that's about all the advice I'm qualified to give. I'm sorry.

For that matter, surgery might be the best choice for your kid. My foster sister had ear infections from the time she was small until she was in her teens - if she pops up here, she can clarify the dates.

And in perfect honesty, the girl has lost hearing, and (though she is loathe to admit it), her balance *sucks*. This might not be a result of the chronic ear infections, I don't know - but I do believe she is one of the kids who could have benefitted from shunts in her ears (she tends to disagree, if I recall our last fight on it!), and she didn't, to my knowledge, get them.
