Two Anacdotes.

I came in to watch the kids Sunday while Jenn cleaned my room. (I HAVE A FLOOR! W00T!!!!!) Jenn took me aside and told me this story.

Apparently, Ana had gotten into something and got powder all over her hair. What, Jenn asked, did she get into?

Ana: *pulls out the non-dairy creamer* Just cream, Mommy.

Now, here's the thing. Jenn hardly ever uses her non-dairy creamer, since it's not non-dairy enough. She uses soy milk. The non-dairy creamer is usually far out of Ana's reach. Neither I nor Jenn can remember ever having it anywhere near Ana, much less mentioning it. My mom is equally non-mentioning of it.

I have maintained for a while that Ana knows more than she lets on about this whole "reading" business, but this is a bit much even for me.

However, suitably distracted from Ana's MASSIVE WRONGDOING, Jenn pointed to the word "non-dairy" and asked "Is this creamer?"

And Ana corrected her, pointing to the right word instead.

You can take of this what you will. I, for one, am frankly baffled, because I don't believe her reading skills are quite this good, yet... the creamer. I don't know.

Frankie is the world's sweetest kid. Really. I say this even without the following story.

He and Ana were sitting down listening to a story. And Frankie turns to Ana and he wants a kiss.

So yes, they pucker up, lean towards each other, and kiss.

This is good enough, but then Frankie tops it by going "Ana? Do you love me? Oh, good. I love you too."

And I'm cracking up in the background. It was the sweetest thing! (Sweet because they have no clue, that is.)
