We didn't go out Monday (rain and tiredness on all hands) or today (tiredness on all hands AGAIN).

But the weather today was great for summer, nice and cool. (Note - we often get very cool days in summer (even in the middle of muggy periods), and very warm days in winter, despite the general temperatures of the seasons. This makes packing away clothes and blankets a difficult proposition at best.) And I looked around, and I had to get some baking in.

So we made cookies, and we made this molasses oatmeal bread, and we made cornbread, and it was all gooooood. Even the first two batches of cookies, which are slightly burnt on the bottom because I had to adjust the temperature for the previously unknown fact that Jenn's oven runs hot.

I had some of that bread the second I pulled it out of the oven, even though hot bread isn't good for you (I'm told), and... mmmmm.

I need to bake more often. I'm clearly quite good at it.

Oh, and we made applesauce for the baby. With my assistance, she ate around the chunks, because I found it easier to just spoon out what I wanted her to have than to spoon out what I *didn't* want her to have.

She liked it so much, she followed the bowl to Ana's table after I took it away from her, climbed up on the table, and opened her mouth for Ana to feed her.

Tomorrow I shall stop being lazy and start compiling Seth/Christopher Thomas Paul stories and pictures for youse guys. Promise.

please refer to him by the nickname his parents have chosen, or not at all. Topher. It very much upsets us that people who feel they should have ANY say in his nickmale refuse to accept it. I am getting very sick of it. I don't tell people what they should/shouldn;t call themselves or their children, and I respect their choices. please have the same respect. Thank you.

I like the NAME we chose him. I also think its retarded to call Father and Son by the same nicknames. You call the girs Ana and Eva, right? Then you can call Topher...Topher. You've refered to Seth in the past as Duckie, I'm sure the name Topher won't kill you. Especially since its not his only nickname. I could request people call him what we USUALLY call him at home...Toaster. (Thank you Seth, for not being able to make the "f/ph" sound!)

Actually, I've switched to calling them Ana and Evangeline (and I often call Ana Angelique, because both Bonne-Maman and Nanen requested it - and, weirdly, so did Ana....)

Actually, I don't mind Toaster so much. And you can call me Constance if you want Betty. (Aw, now I got nasty. Sorry.)

Well, when you see him, good luck with that Christopher thing. He doesn't respond well to it. He'll stop, look at you, and crawl madly in the opposite direction. But he'll happily come when you call his Topher/Toaster/Tofu/Tater. Or his favorite, makes him giggle "Topher Toaster Tater Tot". (Oddly not that hard to say 10 times fast, unless you have a clumsy tongue)

Topher is a good name! Google it. We aren't the only freaks. Plus, with how much him and Chris look alike...it makes sense. Topher really is the second part of Chris.


Oh, man, does this kid love starches! Pasta freak! And bread. They don't beat out his Eggplant, but they run a close second, 'Cado's coming in third. He's not much for fruits, really. Traditional fruits, anyway. He'll eat them, but put a good steamed veggie in front of him, and you win his heart. :D

That said, it's good food you're sticking in him, sounds like. Quick, because I don't want to navigate your tags yet... what're your favorite pictures and stories of the two of them? I know I have the urge to post every silly thing the nieces do, even the stuff that isn't that great, and I'm not their mom. I'd never send somebody to find all the stories of them - it'd wear us all out, and I'd end up not knowing if they could've gotten a better story if they'd scrolled a little further down.
