We saw Elliot today and Friday

Elliot is one of Ana's friends, but we don't see him much because 1. he's in preschool and 2. his mom, wonderful person, nevertheless has trouble getting off Snug Harbor to go places. Well, I wouldn't want to leave Snug Harbor either if I was in the area....
On Friday, their main entertainment (they both were laughing the whole time, and grinning) was from Ana running around the house carrying a huge bear of Elliot's, and Elliot chasing after, both of them declaring "MY BEAR!" at the top of their lungs. The baby steadfastly trailed Ana the best she could, though Ana made several loops before the baby even left one room.
Today, when we meet Elliot in the morning, the first thing they do is repeat the "MY BEAR!" conversation. It's their in-joke.
And this afternoon, when we went to Elliot's house (I sure didn't want to go back to Jenn's hot hot walkup), Ana at one point came to me and asked...
Ana: Connie? Where's Elliot's bear?
Me: I don't know, honey. I guess it's upstairs.
Ana: Okay. *starts heading towards the stairs*
Me: Hey, Ana? Are you going to get his bear just so you can run around and tell him it's your bear?
Pause: *happens*
Ana: Yes.
Me: Okay, sure. Just so long as we're all clear on your motives.
Elliot's got this thing about bats, so, of course, I sang him the bat song until he had it mostly by heart. He's a smart kid. If I didn't know he was 8 months younger than Ana, I wouldn't be able to tell. I wouldn't think he was her age, but I'd figure him on being closer to it. So his memorizing this song took no time at all.
The baby was out and about with us, of course - and she stood up by herself for three seconds. No hands! I had to ask Rachel to confirm it for me, because, verily, mine own eyes I did doubt. She's another smart kid, of course :)
