Except that now they call Katie's death a "mercy killing".
In the same article in which they say that she "refused to take a nap". Because, y'know, her autism "regressing" and causing her to stay awake is a need for much mercy.
Incidentally, I completely missed out posting about Ryan Davies, who was *also* murdered recently. Because there's just not enough of that going around.

Date: 2006-05-29 01:39 am (UTC)Right now I'm doing quite a bit better... The situation with my father was cleared up, I got my fricking pain medication today, and we adjusted my mother's meds successfully so she's not near-sociopathic -- all of which make quite a difference. The future is deeply disturbing to think about, but perhaps the trick is in not looking at it (rather like flying Douglas Adams style)...

Date: 2006-05-29 04:14 am (UTC)I'm glad you're doing better, and I hope... well, I hope the future goes better than you're expecting. I know that's shallow-sounding, but since I do hope it (or at least that whatever happens, you can weather the storm), there's not much else to say.

Date: 2006-05-29 06:27 am (UTC)Wow. :-) Thanks so much for the very complimentary compliment! Amanda Baggs is waaaay more coherent, articulate and lucid than I am these days, I think (Come to that, so are you, Moggy - I'm either deeply depressed or incoherently raging).
It's ok, there really isn't much to say about a situation like mine.
