1. Jenn (who related the story to me) wants to know if the first story below is typical for a child her age.
2. I'm curious about something I noticed recently. We've been reading "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie" to Ana a lot lately (she really likes that book), and as we do, I've noticed that she's adopted the "When you (or sometimes I) X then (I, usually) Y" sentence structure. She uses it all the time, with the same tell-tale inflection we all use when reading the book. If you giiiive a mouse a cooookie.... he's going to ask for a glass of milk! Now I fear I'll be scanning all conversations for quotes and such. Just thinking about it, is all.
