Right when I clear my Friends List, too...

I'd like to invite all new readers, posters, lurkers to take a minute from their schedules to post and introduce themselves, lie, tell funny stories, whatever. So I can get to know you.

Oldbies can do that too, of course :)

Mostly 'cuz I'm bored.

*frowns a bit*

I wonder if I can change on my journal only and not my friends page current music to read "current interest", or "current activity". For example, right now I'm reading up on poetry forms. In a little bit, I'll be reading up on cable options (we're finally replacing our antique cable boxes, and my mom suggested it might be time to switch around our premium options. I wonder if we can get different premium channels on each box....), and then it's back to Harry Potter for a while before a segue back into NYC Playgrounds. And on and on it goes. Interests and activities are rarely related to the post at hand. Oh, and though all this, I'll be mad at the government. No particular reason.

One problem with the 'current music' thing - it'll still show up as 'current music' on everyone else's friends list.

easier to do in s1 than s2 (at least, to my primarily-better-with-html-than-s2 brain), but i'd imagine it shouldn't be too hard. s2, something along the lines of:

if (journal){print "current interest: $current_music"};
else {print "current music: $current_music"}

You could also start appending it to your journal entries. E.g., I have a friend who adds "Currently reading" to the end of her posts, and I always like seeing it.

Look, female gamer!
find her on Maple Story
fire mage Ezlune

Now I've scared them off
with strange freestyle haiku
poet I am not.

Maybe something like -- if($e.poster=="conuly"){[stuff to print current interest]} else { ordinary music stuff } Adapted for component's entry printing function, of course.

Hi, I'm no one in particular. I live quietly in a country suburb and, recently, I cough a lot, but the doctor says that should get better shortly. I'm vaguely worried about The End Times, enough so that I have a supply of food and water, but not enough so that I'm learning to build a fire without a match. I like to cook and the only television I watch is Netflixed long-out-of-date DVDs. I don't quite understand what all the fuss is about Harry Potter--I mean, it's OK, but aren't you people going a little over the top here?--and I've never cared for Star Wars at all, any one of them.

I like to play card and board games. I dread the in-law's annual visits for no reason at all--they're really nice folk, honestly. I revel in repeating bad jokes to unsuspecting innocents and I often go days without seeing or speaking to another human being 'cept my hubby, and I'm very happy about that. I have no children, pets, or real responsibilities. I'm very pleased with my new deafult LJ icon. I am ending this on a rather abrupt note because I can't think of a good way to

Well, I was on America's Most Wanted.

I was. Literally, I mean. I was an extra in their segment on Alex Kelly (http://www.cnn.com/US/9706/12/kelly.guilty/#links), not a featured criminal. I was 15 at the time and "Fox Network" was still a joke. I'd had surgery the day before and my arm was in a sling. I had about thirty seconds of screen time.

I'm an oldbie, but I'll play.

My name is Susy, I live in Arizona with a man who will not fix our sprinklers and a dog who insists on chewing on the couch. I don't play any musical instruments. I really don't give a damn about gas prices. I call myself a vegetarian even though I eat fish every so often, and I don't care to argue about whether this makes me a 'real' vegetarian or not. I am addicted to the internet. Also to cigarettes. It drives me crazy when people list facts about themselves like this, but I'm doing it anyway. I have three tattoos.

THE END.

Hehehe, you've got the same kind of laziness as Derek, I think. More effort now for less effort later = good. (I do agree, but am too lazy to do the "more effort now" part.)

In the late 80s, when there were the Big Three and PBS, and it wasn't unusual for someone to not have cable? It was a major joke.

Now, every channel is a "network".

I am Megan. I lurk, and Ithink I may have said something once......

I saw your post somewhere, not sure where, and followed your post back because I liked your user icon. It was Discworld, and I stole it to use a s a backgropund on my computer.... also, there was a phoenix, and I love them.

Erm, I like Disworld, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaimen, D&D, Harry Potter, and a lot more things that are far too many to list. I;m not sure I could remember them all, but that does not lessen my liking for them. oh, books. I love books. They are my preciouses. oh yes, I like (and own) EVERY SINGLE J.R.R. Tolkien book ever written. Even his treatise on the Anglo-Saxon language.

My current project is to read every sinlg mystery ever written. I've finished every Holmsean one, Agatha Christie, Edward Maurston, Ellis Peters/Edith Pargeter, Randall Garrett and J.D Robb. I'm randomly reading any other one I come across. It is something to do in my spare time, of which I don't have a lot.

I also like writing poetry, but it has to rhyme, though the one freestyle I wrote won awards and things....(it was about a phoenix, go figure)

I go to college, I have a boyfriend, my life is complicated, but no more so than average. I rather like it, in any case, and believe I'll keep it for as long as I'm allowed.

Erm, I enjoy reading about Ana, she reminds my of one of my friends' little sisters.

Not much more about me that's of any interest. eh, I never use your icons, but I do save them and look at them, for many of them make me smile. That's all :)

Hope your life is nice,
Megan

Hmmm... I'm not sure if I'm a lurker or what :)

Currently I'm Nano-ing. This seems to consist of having a story bugging me nearly constantly.. and seems to result in many posts in my writing lj, and nearly as many short posts in my normal LJ compulsively commenting on how many words I've written :P
