Thoughts on Lost...

Yesterday, I watched VM, not Lost. I now realize that was a mistake, since my downloaded Lost unsynched the sound and image about 15 minutes in, and spent the rest of the episode with the sound consistently about 2 seconds behind. That really throws a person off.
1. That pantry? So not enough food for the Lostaways, and it's not enough food to feed Desmond for years either. I mean, our pantry isn't much smaller than that, and it can barely feed us for two years. Sure, we're more people than Just Desmond, but we also stretch our pantry with fresh food!
2. I wonder why Des thought the video would convince them that this is a world-saving thing? The video convinced *me* that this is a social experiment conducted by evil behaviourists (and people wonder why we don't all love ABA....)
3. Maybe he should push the button? KATE! You're closer, you idiot! YOU push the damn button! GAAAAAAH!
4. This is how religions get started, y'know. "Pushing the button is the tradition of our forefathers, and you'll notice that the world hasn't been destroyed yet!" "That old-time religion was good for the Hebrew children, and you'll notice that the world hasn't been destroyed yet!"
5. Can we get somebody *else's* backstory for a change? Just pick a minor character and run with it?
