My take on the article is that it makes a lot more sense to learn how to properly use your body than to spend money on devices that seem to try to compensate for being using their bodies wrong.
Pretty much my take too - acknowledgement that barefoot is BETTER, and closer to barefoot shoes are better than big ol' clunky ones, but also the warning that the body needs time to readjust, preferably with directions from someone who can tell you how and why you need to change your gait.
