*shakes head*
Jun. 22nd, 2005 08:49 amI have to laugh. It's not even funny, but otherwise I'd be crying right now. I've long since realized that the vast majority of my patriotic sensibilities were pretty much entirely tied up in the concept of freedom of speech, including freedom of the press. And every time I think that's taken a blow, it hurts. It really does.
Just yesterday, I read an article about how in polls, the fear Americans had of terrorist attacks was the lowest it's been since 9/11. I thought about posting about it, decided not to because I figured I'd spammed youse guys all enough :)
And today, I go to CNN to look up some stuff that
woodface had been talking about, and what's on the front page?
High risk of attacks with WMDs within a decade. Most likely a nuclear attack by terrorists.
A special report on terrorism.
A video on security fears on the Mississippi, a popup on "the nuclear club".
Maybe they just got the news now. *shrugs* Of course, my inborn cynic tells me that it's probably more like they're trying to make people scared again. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid again.
