It reminds me of my high school graduation. This graduation sucked for a number of reasons (more for my sister, I think, who got burned after ignoring my sage advice to use sunblock), but there were a few amusing parts. For example, the running count of "how often will they mention 9/11 during the graduation" and (my favorite) the Moment of Silence. During this Moment of Silence, one poor hapless kid was stuck on his cell phone, going "no, I'm in the third row - the third row! Mom, I have to go now. Mom, I have to go!" until the kid next to him just took the phone away. Because during the graduation (the Moment of Silence, no less) is just the perfect time to call your kid and tell him that you don't know where he is. Really, you'll figure it out when he gets his diploma case, won't you? (They don't give out real diplomas at the graduation. You have to swing by the day after, which I didn't do, and apparently it does *not* get sent in the mail. To this day, I have not seen my high school diploma once)

I have never seen either my GED or the certificate I got after completing child day care courses (off-campus college courses), later.

You should just stop by and get ot on one of your days off sometime. It's not so bad - and it's the only way Dul got his too.
