Quite possibly into a thousand books.

I'm going to try (ha!) to sort through my books later, weed out doubles and whatnot. It's unlikely that I'll give away a book in great condition or anything, but if it's readable, does anybody want me to look out for anything? Sci-fi books, fantasy, whatever?

If you find anything on my Amazon wishlist (http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/registry.html/103-3945934-5227063?%5Fencoding=UTF8&id=6V9R688FKYV2) I'd love to work out some way to take 'em off your hands. *grins*

In no way do I have that bookmarked for easy access. >.>

Well, I'm always looking for a good read. I'll take a good science fiction/fantasy novel any day. :)

If you have ones you can't find homes for, have you ever heard of bookcrossing.com ?

I own Interstellar Pig, yup. ^_^

And in regards to Uglies, I admit I don't know anything about it except that the author is my favorite author in the world.

You might check out http://www.sf-books.com as it's a great trading place. You put up what you have, then if somebody requests a title, you ship it to them and get a credit you can use to request any book (any length/size!) from another SF-Books member. It's pretty cool. :-)

I'll see if I can drag someone to the bookstore tomorrow for that express purpose. ^_^

I wonder if you'd like Fine Prey. It has quite a lot of linguistics content. When I check out Uglies, I'll let you know if I like it, because if I like both, then you probably wouldn't like Fine Prey.

I confused myself.

It's not much unlike Where's George, where you input your money serial numbers in a database online to see where they wind up.

Here, you sign up, get an ID number for a book you are going to 'release in the wild' and then you release the book, go online and for the hunters tell them where you left it, and if people find the book (hunters or random people that pick it up) then they go to bookcrossing.com and enter the ID number.

I checked out the book crossing site. Looks like a really great idea but I hate letting books go...lol

I was surprised to find that there are some books released in my area. Well, about 60 odd miles away but still....

I might just buy some second hand books that I don't mind giving away.

Bookcrossing has been mentioned, but here are some other sites you can check out to see what you want to do with your books. They're either trade sites or donation-type places.

Well, I bought Uglies after reading the first chapter at the bookstore. Same writing style. His books tend to be more... more word-driven than plot-driven, if that makes sense. It probably doesn't. I don't know what I mean. Sigh.

Still, if you ever find a free copy of Fine Prey, maybe check it out just in case. Hee.
