For my own personal gratification:
Feb. 27th, 2005 02:21 amWhat sort of articles/posts are you most likely to read? What sort of articles/posts are you most likely to link to? Comment on?
The results of this question won't change my posting habits in the slightest. I just wanna know.

Date: 2005-02-26 11:45 pm (UTC)I think it depends largely on my mood - how much I feel like reading, what I am interested in, whether I feel up to yet another omg my culture sucks article...
I do tend to read posts about issues related to psychology or education when I know they are, as those are my fields and I can always stand to learn more about them. Not sure beyond that.

Date: 2005-02-26 11:48 pm (UTC)Question. When I take my time responding to the article point by point, in my pretty italics, is that clear tibi? Or does it all get blended together, looking like one block of text instead of two interwoven?

Date: 2005-02-26 11:53 pm (UTC)As long as people don't get too fancy with their fonts/colors/effects, I can generally read things fairly comfortably. Except when the cat jumps into my lap... silly kitty.

Date: 2005-02-27 01:30 am (UTC)Practically nothing can induce me to comment on an article, though! I'm v. intimidated by commenting on your journal. The other people who comment can be scary and discussiony/argumentative, and I try to avoid that.

Date: 2005-02-27 01:33 am (UTC)I don't click on an article when there's nothing in the link/flavor text to indicate what it's about.
I especially like articles on science and sometimes on religion.
Lastly, and this is a very general thing, I don't like to click on links unless they automatically open in a new window. I always lose my place if they open in the same window. *grins*
When it comes to commenting, that all depends. If I have something useful/interesting to contribute, I'll comment; if I merely agree with whatever was said, I don't comment. I hate "me too" comments with no substance.

Date: 2005-02-27 02:13 am (UTC)Seriously, I don't right-click on links because I'm lazy, sure, but also because I really honestly forget. It's not my habit. And yet, it's my habit to think that the link has opened in a new window--because other websites appear so very different--so when I'm done reading the article, I close the window. And then I have to find where I was on my friends list. When commenting, I remember to use the back button.
