We were at the Children's Museum with Ana last week, and at one section there's a bunch of pictures of Korean children, with buttons you can press to hear them speak in English, speak in Korean, or hear a random bit of Korean music. And we told Ana "Hit the yellow button!". She did. And then she hit the blue button when we asked, and the green button, and the blue button again, and the yellow button, with some 80-90% accuracy.

This could be a coincidence. I mean, she *is* just, what, 21 months?

But I don't care, it's just so cool.

I bet she's smart and it's not just a coincidence. Olivia knows squares, and she uses a lot of full sentences now (not just memorized ones, either...). Like "Bye-bye, Mommy, I love you!"

Probably not coincidence; it's common for children that age to know their colors, even if they don't yet say the names of them. Toddlers have a lot more receptive-language skills than people usually suspect - she probably also knows the names of everything she's heard named in her environment, and a good assortment of adjectives.

*grins* It IS very cool.

I *wanted* to ask you to come over, and Mommy *wanted* to hear from you, esp. re: shopping.

Yeah, my youngest cousin was taught to use baby signs, and that showed very quickly how many words she know, but couldn't yet say... :)
