But other people *are*, and they keep accosting me in Hallmark stores and asking me to "sniff this" and "sniff that", so I figure that if I post this around a bit more people will buy candles online and less will be around to harass me in stores. Hopefully.

The only reason why I don't like buying candles online is because I have a very sensitive sense of smell and I need to know exactly what something smells like before I buy it. I hate the strong scents of store-bought candles too, but it's a little better than not knowing what you're getting other than the name of the scent.

I'm more into burning scented oils anyway. =P

I love scented candles but sometimes when a store is unloading a huge shipment of them I have to wait outside for my husband because I get allergic to too much of them!

It's odd. I hate scented candles with a passion, but I'm not against burning smelly things in my room. I burn lavender oil all of the time. I suppose the difference is that a lavender candle still smells fake no matter what, while the oil is natural and doesn't cling to my hair so much.

I cannot stand stores that sell tons of scented shit. They give me headaches to be in for just a few minutes. It's so not fun to be accosted by all of those clashing scents. Still, even if I did use scented candles, I wouldn't buy them online. I'm too suspicious to buy something that I haven't smelled first! Homemade candles are lovelier than store-boughts, though, so maybe someone else will be interested.
