I'm just stunned at what the complaint was. She's a bad parent for not buying candy and junk? Bwa?

Ooh, and on the subject... ANA! Is so cute. ANA! Is so sweet. ANA has never, afaik, had junk food. For her birthday she had... a cookie. She didn't even get to eat the whole thing. As soon as she lost interest, we took it away. *huggles her Ana baby*

Man, I need to get me some new pictures. Maybe one of her up on her skates, or in the tub with her fishies....

I suspect that not being allowed to have any junk food of any kind has made me the addict I am today. The closest thing to sweets that we were allowed were fruit roll-ups - cereal was always Cheerios or Kix or something non-sugary. So now I go after Ding-Dongs like a heroin addict. My husband, on the other hand, was allowed to have junk food and very rarely wants it now.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I know, there's nothing scientific about my theory, but there is a part of me that will buy a box of Hostess Cupcakes just because I CAN and no one can tell me no! :D Well, Tom does, but he can't stop me. Bwahahahah.

I have one friend who's family is ultra-granola hippie vegan, and though she's a grownup now and can eat what she pleases, she doesn't really ever seem to eat any junk at all. So maybe it's just me. But of all my friends (except for the one I just mentioned), I was the only one with a mom who would not allow any junk food of any kind in the house and I am the only one who buys that crap.

I was allowed any sugary cereals I wanted, but can't stand any of them now.

On the other hand, I also have daily candy cravings, so..... probably not a good case study....

Moderation in all things. Completely banning junkfood makes kids devour it when you're not around. Giving in all the time is unhealthy. But the occasional candy bar isn't going to hurt a kid. And fruit rocks, though I brefer peaches or avacados to mangos.
