I'm fairly certain that strippers and exotic dancers really do not make that much, anyway. This is rather like saying that cleaning ladies and janitors can make $100,000 a year if they "just work hard enough". It's something people say when they don't think.

I'd be more upset about the whole thing if I weren't so... happy today.

They may not make that much a year, but I wouldn't discount it as impossible. The mother of a dear friend of mine became exceedingly well known in her area, eventually extending to the entire state, and was very well paid not only to dance in her club, but to travel to other clubs as well.

Of course, I haven't a clue what her exact salary was (I always thought it'd be rude to ask. "HEY! How much d'you get paid to take off your clothes??"), but I've been led to believe it was somewhere up close to the $100s area, and possibly a bit more.
