We got a survey from Gallup and the NOAA

And inside the envelope they included $2! Seriously, two nice crisp singles!

This is the most excited I've ever felt opening the mail, guys. They sure know how to motivate people to fill out their surveys - I was so tickled I did it in record time. They could've sent us stickers, or address labels, or all the other stuff people fit into those envelopes, but nope, they went the straight route. The smart route.

There is some marketing company (carrying out the poll on behalf of NOAA) who knows what really motivates people.

The Nielsen ratings people also do that, I learned from briefly being a "Nielsen family" a year or two ago, although they sent along a crisp $2 bill! I think they were soon very disappointed because I don't own a television and only occasionally listen to internet radio, not even AM or FM radio.

I remember receiving a real $2 bill for Nielsen surveys (before they had our cable devices do the reporting for us) and was thrilled to have an actual $2 bill for my wallet.
