I made a double batch and then realized that we actually only had enough baker's chocolate for... two thirds of a batch. Whoops! Made up the difference with a bag of chocolate chips and a few squares of Cote d'Or, and it was so good.
We had it with banana, two types of apple, pear, candied ginger (for my money, the sneaky hit of the occasion), potato chips, ritz crackers, and marshmallows. Mmm.
And then after Jenn added a good deal of milk and made hot chocolate for my mother, which made her happy as well.
Next time, cheese! Once I decide on a cheese recipe, what should we dip into it?
Hm. I could probably make my father's bean dip in this fondue pot if I had the recipe. All I know is it had shredded cheese and also cream cheese and, idk, beans? And it wasn't terribly spicy, either. I used to love it as a kid. Once I ate some after school as a snack and lost a baby tooth in it!

Date: 2022-02-25 08:05 am (UTC)when you do the cheese version, bread is traditional, but you might try variations like pretzel sticks. or try fruit/veg (tart apples, broccoli or cauliflower), cured meats like salami, maybe large pasta shapes like shells, or try potatoes - french fries would be easy to dunk

For cheese recipes, well, I've seen preblended fondue mix sold in the refrigerated section of stores, but not for a while now. (Then again, I live in Wisconsin, land o' cheese.)
