OMG.
Also, I notice that in She-Ra's new and improved (and I will say, massively overpowered) state her hair and cape still billow in the wind... even in the vacuum of space! I feel like most of the magic must be going towards the special effects budget here.
(She also is able to carry sound. IN SPACE.)
Will also note that Entrapta's spacesuit designs are amazing.
Further question: Why does this ship carry so much sugar? (At least thousand year old sugar is just as good as the day it was made. Sugar is the ultimate nonperishable, provided it never gets wet.)
Also also, it really is good they have Catra around to make the plans now. She's got a real gift for both strategy and tactics.
Aaaaand now I'm at the end. I agree with Mermista's take on Entrapta/Hordak, but honey, it doesn't matter if you're okay with it or not, neither of them cares what you think.
Backing up a bit, did everybody seriously level up while the Best Friend Squad was gallivanting around space? Because it seems like they came back and all their friends were much more skilled and powerful than they had been.
Backing forward some, I really hope nobody points out to Catra that there's a 100% chance that Shadow Weaver was still an abusive caregiver and that there's at least a 92.7% chance that she only told her "I'm proud of you" in order to manipulate her and Adora some more because otherwise they wouldn't do what she wanted. Granted, in that moment what she wanted was really for the greater good, but still.
And I'm glad that Adora and Catra got together, don't get me wrong, but... listen, the two of them have some serious mental health issues that aren't going to be easily resolved with the power of love, and "magic" isn't looking too good either. Catra at least, I think, recognizes on some level that she has a problem. Several interrelated problems that form a tangled mess of seriously dysfunctional behavior. I'm not entirely convinced, even after that convo with Mara, that Adora realizes she does too. She sleep-fights, ffs.
And looking at this timeline. In the past, there were multiple worlds with magic, and the First Ones integrated it into their technology, check. They colonized at least two highly magical worlds with the intent on mining the magic for all it's worth, check - and they don't seem to have cared much about whom they hurt there either. After the destruction of one magical planet, they decided to use a second one as a superweapon, and then Mara hid Etheria in some other dimension, whereupon magic disappeared from the universe.
Which Horde Prime didn't care about because he's got issues with magic.
But... does this mean that Mara really did set things up for Prime to take over the known universe? That even without the superweapon it might have been possible for him to have been stopped earlier if all the magic in the universe wasn't being funneled into Despondos?
Because if I have my timeline straight here, and understand the implications of "We can go on a road trip and restore magic to the universe", I think that's what happened. Huh. (Edit: Ooooooor she was not the only person with the bright idea - and the ability - to move an entire planetary system into a safer, more isolated dimension. Presumably they aren't all in Despondos or people would've been able to see the stars of other suns... at least, those closer than 1,000 light years away, but who even knows how many dimensions there are?)
And now they've destroyed Prime, which objectively is great because he was about to destroy everything - but realistically, there's going to be a whole lot of miserable people circling a whole lot of localized power vacuums. People who are going to wax nostalgic about the days when everybody was happily chipped, there were plenty of rations (the gray AND the brown kinds!) and the trains ran on time.
The greater universe is going to be a fucking mess for a long time, is what I'm seeing.
I think the gang should just stay home, let the mess sort itself out. They don't need to mop it up themselves. (Which they could do. With Adora's magical She-Ra mop. We haven't seen its ascended final form yet, but I'm sure it is glorious. You guys sure there's no fanfic featuring the mop?)
