Did you know, Jenn apparently had no idea that Tetris even had a song!? I don't know how we grew up together sometimes.

When we learned to dance the Korobushka (which uses this tune) at a "medieval" fair, I said something along the lines of "somehow I'm convinced that I know the tune from somewhere else". Somehow everybody found that terribly funny. I JUST COULDN'T PLACE IT DAMNIT! :(

Maybe Jenn always played Tetris on Mute?

When I was living in a small town in France I was made to feel like a true wit bc I introduced the usage of Tetris and MacGyver as verbs.

I learned Korobushka to that tune back in the 70's, so it definitely came first! No one has ever mentioned tetris when we danced it, so maybe there isn't much overlap between tetris players and folk dancers. I played tetris on a sun workstation in the late 80s while avoiding schoolwork, and there was no theme song. Or maybe that was hextris. It's been a while.

Also this is the first I've heard of tetris as a verb!

English doesn't have the firmest of boundaries between nouns and verbs.

Oh, I have no doubt that the folk tune came first! But to many people, it's apparently so firmly linked to Tetris that they found it hilarious that I didn't immediately say "oh, it's the Tetris tune" and instead just wondered where I'd heard it before. :D
