because, after all, I can just shove whatever I'm keeping on the porch.

Better do it fast - next week we're back in the 50s. Despite what you may have heard, the polar vortex is probably worsened by climate change, so it's hardly surprising that we'll be in unseasonably warm weather again.

Yes, it is wonky. Gets clear and sunny, but freezing, goes up to the 40s and 50s, rains. No wonder everyone keeps coming down with various sinus illnesses.
This type of weather plays havoc with the sinuses.

The weather is off-kilter here too. Highest minimum temperatures have hit record figures, with somewhere getting 36C overnight in the last week.

assuming 97F is approximately normal body temp, yes. I'm not sure where in the country that was (I was in the office while the other two office occupants were on a web meeting, so I got the audio but not the visual). I imagine a lot of people without aircon didn't sleep well.

have tried to find out where. The best I've found is in the January summary report (http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/mwr/aus/mwr-aus-201801.pdf), but the daily minimum is in a colour band, and the areas I can spot were 33 - 36 C, so possibly that is what I was hearing in the meeting.
