Well, now I know definitively that it was the Tom of the wild flock of Turkeys that crapped on my porch back in Missouri. Not really surprising. He was the bold one that wasn't bothered by people coming in and out the front door, though I never actually found him on the porch. The hens kept their distance at all times.

That bit about Siberia reminds me of a bit in my 2nd or 3rd grade social studies book. It dated back to sometime in the 50s.

Anyway, they had a bit about folks in some parts of Siberia buying *slabs* of milk. even had a picture of someone carrying one home.

Oh! I hadn't known Dr. Bruce Jackson had died. :( I knew him; we were coworkers, briefly, I was working IT at a place he had a research fellowship, and he was one of the two other ultra-nightowls there. So young! How very sad.

The Lost Lingo of Taxi Dancers is still lost, at least by that “article,” which reads more like an advertisement for Creasey's book.

- which fails as an ad, for it does not even say whether the book is in print, let alone where to get it.

Regarding the infrastructure article: I drive over a concrete bridge about every other day on my way to school. Sometimes the traffic backs up and I'm sitting there on the bridge. I'm glad they reconstructed it just over ten years ago. Being on the National Register of Historic Places made it kinda important, too.
