Ugh...thank you I think. I just bought all of Octavia Butler's books on Kindle plus, Pandemic. I am one of those people who is not allowed into book stores without parental supervision and Amazon's Kindle has made it ridiculously easy for me to buy books. I appear to be hoarding them. ;-)

You don't need the actual Kindle. I just have the Kindle app on my Android phone, and it does the same thing.

LOL! My thoughts exactly. I can own upwards to 1000 or more books electronically, cart them around with me, and no worries. Also they aren't difficult to get rid of, or take up any space.

Or on your computer, ipad, amazon fire....I've also read it on my smartphone. You really just need an app and the app is free.

I remember reading an Octavia Butler book in college. At the time I thought she came off as pompous and preacher. Now, I think I’d be more ready to appreciate her themes.

Lol, I already bought those from Amazon ages ago. (I should not be allowed on their site without supervision.)

And no one can tell what you are reading unless you tell them. Which is key for subways and commuting. Plus it's light. And has a light that comes on when the lights go off on trains.

Thanks for the tip! I got Parable of the Sower.
Last time I read Butler was when I was maybe 10 years old and reading through the library trying to find books with spaceships and stuff. I thought most of the trilogy was boooring, but obviously it's ridiculous I've let my quarter-century old opinion keep me from her work, which has made such an impact on so many people.
