The turkey has nested in somebody else's yard

and today I saw her with all her little chicks poults. A whole group of them by her, and the last straggler kept having to scramble to catch up before wandering off again!

The squirrels have been taking their peanuts out of the ring feeder, carefully burying them in the friable compost mix I'll use for mulching but which is currently in a container, and then digging them up again an hour or two later to eat. This is strangely adorable and it's left holes all over the mulch.
