Graceful, elegant hawks.
Or maybe they're falcons. Graceful, elegant falcons.
Well, they're graceful and elegant when they're in the sky, whatever sort of bird they are. Anyway, I'm somewhat less used to seeing one scrabbling awkwardly on a fencepost, trying to keep its balance while not looking totally doofy. It failed. It kept its balance, barely, but it did so at the cost of its dignity. It was very ridiculous. I tried to take a picture, but it awkwardly half-swooped to the next fencepost, and then the next, and I could never even get a good angle for a video.
I *think* it was trying to catch the squirrel that was running back and forth under this side of the fence and then the other, but there wasn't actually enough room between the fence and the walls of the houses next to the fence for the bird to squeeze in there.
Like I said, it was absolutely hilarious. You should've seen it.
