Yes, I did want to wake up and find out

that the world is just a smidge more dystopian than it was last week.

I look forward to living in this new and improved hellscape!

Today is the anniversary of the Battle of the Greasy Grass, also known as the Battle of the Little Bighorn, in which Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, and united indigenous forces defeated General Custer and his army. Though victorious, within five years almost all Lakota Sioux and Cheyenne peoples would be confined to reservations as a result of the Plains War.

This poem presumably has to do with that same battle, or else why the editor's note, but before I got to the editor's note I thought it was chosen because of yesterday's awful news.
