Unlike with Finn, this woman didn't come in screaming but sobbing about how she knows she didn't treat the dog right and he's better off with the neighbor and how hard it is that she has ten (!) kids and had to downsize (I've seen her place from the inside, when another neighbor lived there, it's definitely not big enough for ten kids) and now doesn't have a car and on and on and on.
Now, if I'd been in this situation I think I would've called it a win and extricated myself as quickly as possible, but apparently my other neighbor is of a different frame of mind because she laid into this woman for not even combing the dog's fur.
But all's well that ends well. Or mostly well - against my will, I feel really bad for anybody crammed into one of those poorly maintained rentals with any number of children, much less ten.
