Went to the doctor today.

We'd called ahead to let them know we might be a few minutes late, and showed up at 11:09 for an 11am appointment. And boy, the waiting room was crowded, but actually the wait wasn't too bad at all. By doctor time it was almost non-existent!

Anyway, as we're sitting and waiting some woman comes in and says that she has an 11:30 appointment for an echo, but the car won't wait, can she be seen now?

I checked my phone discreetly at this time, it was 11:15.

And the receptionist said that all appointments are actually running on time today, so no.

"But he won't wait!"

"Well, it's a half hour appointment anyway, so...."

I get that sometimes you're a bit strapped, but I can't quite work out what this woman was thinking.
