Finn is a contradiction.
Mar. 16th, 2021 07:39 pmIn recent months, he's clearly been stiff when he wakes up. A few times he's even whined and whimpered and limped, and the first time we saw that we nearly rushed him to the vet! But now we think he's just sleeping funny, as we all do. Well, he's an old dog now - he was 7 or 8 when he came to us, and that was a full 4 years ago.
But he's also become a lot more active in a lot of ways. He jumps onto the couch without having to first assess the situation and then be coaxed and cajoled up. He jumps off the couch and the chair without hesitating. He runs, even up and down stairs. Believe me when I say that after four years, I did not expect to ever see him run up the stairs, no matter how excited he was to see me.
And, of course, he's easily capable of making the 30 minute walk to the groomer, though we haven't done many long walks with the pandemic and all. (If I'm very, very careful with my walk, we can avoid encountering pretty much anybody, no matter what time of day. But I don't want to deviate from that plan and then find myself suddenly in a crowd with no escape.)
