Eva and I played through Detroit: Become Human.

And we got the very best ending through judicious use of walkthroughs at the later stages.

There are three player characters you switch between, Connor, Kara, and Markus. Early in the game, Connor can choose to save or not save a fish, and then slightly later you can choose to approach a dog and then have Connor choose to pet it or not.

You can also see which percentage of players made the same choices you did, and I have to say, the percentage that pet the dog is shockingly low. We spent the whole game wondering aloud what sort of player would make this awful choice or that awful choice, before concluding that obviously these are the same players who didn't pet the dog.
