and to all a good night!

I keep trying to add things to my Christmas menu. I do know that one chicken, one ham slice, two hasselback squashes, brussels sprouts, creamed spinach, wild rice, carrots, and mashed potatoes is enough for six people even before we add in the three types of pie. SO WHY DO I WANT TO MESS WITH THE MENU NOW!?

Chicken is out of the oven and, for once, I think I cooked it the exact right amount and I won't have to shove it back in.

Squash is IN the oven for the next 15 minutes.

I decided not to make the ham slice or carrots, but I wish to emphasize that this is not because I ran out of time or screwed up my scheduling, but simply because I realized we had enough food. I repeat, my scheduling was exemplary and I did not run out of time, nor was I a frantic, hectic mess leaving chaos and tears in my wake.

Something in [livejournal.com profile] ozarque's journal. She had one post, or perhaps a series of posts, about the lens people view the world and specifically she suggested that you can use a "life is like a team game" lens to get people to help out with holidays... "C'mon, if we all work together we can make this the best Thanksgiving ever!" sort of thing?

Does anybody happen to have that bookmarked so I don't have to search her entire journal?
