So, I got the girls books for Christmas (as always)

And then I just carelessly left them lying around the living room in the B&N bags. No big deal if they look at the covers, right? And I trust them, right?

But when I saw that Eva had taken one of her books and left it on the kitchen table, well, that's a little too blatant! I tucked it on the top shelf of the pantry and said "Eva, really, you shouldn't go rooting around in the Christmas gift pile, or if you do, at least hide it better!"

Eva: What do you mean?
Me: The Cats of Tanglewood Forest? Seriously?
Eva: Oh! No, I was just pre-reading it before I give it to Ana!
Me: What are you talking about? You can't give that to Ana!
Eva: WHY NOT!?
Me: Because I got it to give to you?
Eva: No! I got it with Mommy yesterday!
Me: Wait. Hold on. *rummagerummagerummage* Well, I sure hope your mom kept the receipt!

Well, at least we had a good laugh! I have to return the extra sometime this week.
