The regular insurance card (turns out we're not covered by that optometrist anyway)

Upon leaving the orthodontist, the umbrellas (I'll swing by tomorrow and pick them up then)

Yessirree bob, I was on a goddamn roll today, one with butter and onions and some nice pastrami. Wait, lost that metaphor. Just add "my metaphor" to the list.

The children also forgot something:

Their manners

Seriously, they're supposed to know better than to roll around on the floor of the waiting room!

Despite all that, I actually got a lot done.

I managed to sign them up for swimming, despite having forgotten Eva's swimming report card to confirm she's in guppy (we agreed to sign her up for guppy under the condition that if the instructor decides I'm nuts she goes back to polliwog), to find several of our bathing suits, to MAKE A PHONE CALL (truly, this is a red letter day) and make an appointment with a new optometrist, having given up on the old one completely, to recite the atm card number from memory and thus pay for the orthodontist and to make a new appointment there (boy howdy, does Ana ever need braces), and to get some math and writing done.

Yea, verily, I am a rock star.
