He tried to slip out the door while my mother was leaving and got his foot stuck, thankfully between the door and floor where there's a gap. Unfortunately, the door had *locked*, so he was yowling for half a minute until my sister could dig out her key and rescue him.

Luckily he dashed away *inside* where he was easy to locate, so I got woken up by a panicky Jenn asking me to take him to the vet if it seemed necessary.

Well, I gave him a few minutes to calm down, and when I checked on him he wasn't hiding, he didn't hiss or growl at me (or whimper), and his paws looked normal, so I gave him a few hours and checked again. He's walking voluntarily and normally, though he does favor that paw slightly when sitting or standing, keeping it raised. I'll think he'll be fine, though I'm not letting him out the door the rest of the day.

I'm really glad it shook out this way, because I'm not sure where the cat carrier is. I need a new one anyway, that one's really for small dogs and is thus uncomfortably large for my purposes.
