Miserable rain all last night.
May. 1st, 2014 08:44 amKept me up, that and the wind. And my shoes are still soaked, I ought to put them in the oven on warm instead of over the radiator, it's ridiculous. Whine, whine, whine. At least my clothing dried out, I got drenched just picking up Eva!
I happened to find an old Sweet Valley Twins book in her room the other day and picked it up to breeze through it. I never realized as a child how uncomfortably... well, pornographic the obligatory first chapter description is! Maybe that word is a bit strong, but still. The children's section of the bookstore has changed so much since I was a kid. It used to be utterly dominated by long running series, shelf after shelf of them, but now... not so much. The nieces don't know how lucky they are.

Hawaii state Sen. Sam Slom speaks at a rally in Honolulu against legislation that would legalize same-sex marriage in the state, although he supports civil unions. He is the only Republican out of 25 members of the Senate.
As the lone Republican in Hawaii's Senate, Sam Slom is undaunted despite being hopelessly outnumbered.
