And I told her to try not to play with him, because, long story *very* short, he's not a good influence at all and does many dangerous things and I'm concerned. (The day before, for example, Elise found him setting a fire in front of... of all places our house!) And she asked "is he bad?" and I said no, he's just young, prompting the reply of "He's NOT young, he's EIGHT!" (He's seven, apparently, but that's not the point.) Her mother and I clarified that he's not bad, he just does bad things.

Anyway, she was thinking and thinking about this kid, because as we returned to the house she told me that he "doesn't have a jacket, just a shirt". Then she said "No, maybe he has a coat" before deciding that he couldn't have a coat because, as she said, "A coat is a kind of jacket" (and, as she'd already said he didn't have a jacket, he couldn't therefore have a coat without her being wrong).

I love this. I mean, I know it's the other way around, but I love it.

Evangeline is also into sorting things around now. She can't name her colors, but she can match them up, put all the red or yellow things together, use the blue key for the blue door, that sort of thing.

Haiku!

I am tentatively calling it "Bowling with Babies", but I await approval from the creators, of course :)

Basically, after I took down the museum stroller for the kids (Evangeline: MY GO-WA! *runrunrunrunrun* CONNIE! MY GO-WA! *sit*) Angelique pushed her sister over to the little bowling lane at the museum and started setting up the pins. She asked her sister to stay put, and then, once it was done, went "Ready?" and ran her into the pins. They laughed, and then they did it again. And again. Each time, Angelique was careful to say things like "Get ready" and "Okay, we're going to run now!" to her sister, and when Evangeline got out and didn't get back in, she didn't push the issue, which has been a big problem in the past.
