I forgot to post what I got for my birthday last week!

So far, I've gotten just about nothing. Ana made me a card. I oooh-ed and aah-ed and, uh, disposed of it when her back was turned. I have enough of her artwork, seriously. The girl just churns that stuff out! (It was very sweet, of course, but... yeah.)

But we did all go out for dinner last Sunday. It was my birthday, and Michele's, and her friend Karen's. I posted about that, but forgot to tell you that Deniz gave me a gift! I got a very nice bag/pencil case from the family, and inside was a note that Deniz apparently made with no prompting:

(Every line is, of course, in a different color. I've got to scan this in one day, it's just that sweet!)

I probably won't keep it all that long either, but it really made my day.

This weekend she made me a picture of myself. She kept telling me not to look, and finally asked me if I could guess whom it was a picture of.

Me: It's a picture of me, right?
Deniz: *jaw literally drops* HOW DID YOU KNOW????
Me: Because you're making a picture of me to give to me as a surprise, right?
Deniz: *jaw keeps on dropping* HOW DID YOU KNOW????

I put it on my wall as she watched, which was probably a tactical error as now it has to stay up there until she visits again. It's a very sweet picture, but Deniz, like Ana, just churns this work out. Well, she's young.
