Date: 2004-05-25 06:38 pm (UTC)I took Latin at O'level - back in 1980. It was coupled with Classical Studies and Greek Mythology. I loved it. We had to translate the Iliad from Latin to English. Hard but fun. I got a grade B at the time and came top in my class. Not hard to do as there were only 8 of us in the whole school taking Latin.
I can't remember any of it now, though. I have the English version of the Iliad and The Odyssey but I've yet to read them. I think I actually enjoyed the challenge of translating, at the time.
