Oh dear GOD...
Sep. 22nd, 2005 02:48 pmAna would not take a nap today. And I nearly believed her, though by her behaviour it was obvious that she NEEDED this nap. She bit, and now that she's just about over that, it can be taken as a clear sign that she's overtired.
Once she realized that she'd whined herself out of one more book, she really tried to get out of napping, using excuses from "I bite the cereal!" (when she had gorged herself on food all day, and had finally stopped eating a little while ago) and "Read apples!" (not happening, not after that bite), and "Change diaper!" That last one would've worked, except I'd just *changed* it, and she wasn't wet yet. And once she saw it wasn't working, she tried "I go on potty!" and "I go on toilet!", but the game was up. She never asks for her diaper to be changed, even when she knows she's more comfortable with a new one on, so it was clear that those last two were just ploys to stay up later. Eventually, she even tries "CONNIE! MILK! MILK!" which was just absurd, considering that as far as I know, the word only ever means "nurse" to her. I wonder if Jenn's going to start pumping before the baby's born, actually, but that's a different issue.
Finally she gave up and fell asleep. She tried, though, she tried hard to stay up.
