Got free food. Which was actually quite good. I mean, I was expecting kosher pizza, which, being pizza, always ends with me awake all night... but no, it was good, pork and fried rice and chicken and cooked plantains.

Not kosher, I guess. *shrugs*

And I still have the tub to give them. I got a hugtackle. Everybody called all those baby clothes cute.

Here's a piece of advice: If anybody you know is having kids, buy clothes for older babies, not for infants. They will outgrow all those cute outfits before they have a chance to be worn. So buy stuff that'll fit them in a year or a year and a half. Trust me, the parents will thank you (especially if it's not pink and it's for a girl).

Well, I suppose they'd thank you anyway. But still.

So, I guess G-d also wanted poor Andrea Yates to kill her kids? After all, He was the one who wanted her knocked up so often when she was going insane from it.

Here, I'll tell you what. You think it's immoral for me not to want kids? You deal with the kids that are already here - get them all fed, and schooled, and clothed, and take in the ones that don't have parents. Once there's no child in dire straits, sick or dying from something preventable, then I'll go get myself pregnant. Promise. Worry about the kids that are here before you worry about the ones that aren't and never were.

There's a certain type of religious person whose beliefs confuse me.

When something happens they don't like (lots of people starve, kids ask "why did God let this happen", that sort of thing), they say "it's all part of God's plan". If this tragedy is sufficiently distant, it doesn't even matter if it was caused by people, it's "part of the plan".

But if you do something they don't like, you're a horrible sinner who'll be punished. What ever happened to "part of the plan"???

I mean, when God wanted a kid, he knocked up Mary despite the fact that she was still a virgin. So if God really wanted me to have a kid, I'm sure he could arrange it - maybe even change my mind for me.

If I wanted to have a kid, and couldn't, that'd be part of the plan. But since I don't want a kid, I'm a sinner? Maybe it's part of the plan for me to not want kids!

And, if it's part of the plan, how can I in good conscience be punished?

There's something fishy about this whole argument.

I need a course in theology to be able to effectively smite people who use it.

Whee!

But surprising. I wonder why there was a short influx of them....

Is he fucking kidding us?

I don't think the rich are exactly discriminated against, sweety. If these taxes are throwing them into the poorhouse, come and talk. However, it seems to me that even with progressive taxes they're still better off than I am, so... yeah. Shut up.

Powell's lawyer, Mary Ellen Attridge, said Powell exercised bad judgment, but that she and Faria otherwise have taken good care of the boy. "She has been a very good mother," Attridge said.

She locked the kid in the trunk of her car so she could go party. Not even in a car seat, in the trunk. I don't think this is the sort of bad judgment that you should get a second chance with, y'know? There's bad judgment, and then there's... really bad judgment.

I know a little of what this is like.

Honestly, when I get a chance I'm buying Ana a whole new wardrobe. She has WAAAAAY too many pink things.

W00t!

Good for us! Yay!

Now, if they'd find a way to get those back fines from countries that are not receiving aid I'd be a very happy Connie.

And normally I hate the idea of parking tickets being collected.
