Now, if they could do house calls, I'd be thrilled. Still, it's a start.

Oh, great, just what we need. MORE judges and politicians who don't draw a clear line between their beliefs and the law.

(And yet, if I started a law school just for people to learn how to oppose the fundies, I'd be a horrible horrible person, unlike them)

Big maple in our yard. I *liked* that tree, too. Fortunately, it didn't break any windows or our roof (though it's displaced a few squirrels...) and it looks like we're going to be getting a LOT more sun as soon as it's taken down properly (trust me, we're calling a professional. By now we all know the hazards of do-it-yourself tree removal).

This is how we found out our phone's been disconnected for lack of payment. Again. This is not my mother's fault, she never got the bill. The fact that you have to pay the bill regardless of whether or not you see it doesn't seem to occur to her. It turns out that this is my fault. Apparently, my mother is incapable of finding the phone bill. In the mailbox. Ever. I should sort the mail and give it to her. Of course, we've tried that, and the end result is she never reads her mail. This is not her fault. And I know I've tried handing the mail to her, but then she claims she never got it (and it's my fault).

*screams*

It's okay, though. I'm setting her up for online billing. I'd like to see how it's my job to check her email for her.

See?

I probably won't keep it very long, because I so rarely would have a chance to use it, but it was too good to pass up.

The lj-cut is your my friend, especially when posting large photos. I know you know how to use it. This is a nag here because I really don't want to be a nudge and stalk you all to your own journals to ask you to stop tormenting my friends page. My monitor stopped acting funny (I'm not sure if that's going to last, though) and I changed my monitor settings back to the lower-definition version. Unless I hook up my laptop again (unlikely), pictures mess up my friends page. I like to read your posts, and I can't do that if I have to scroll. Really.

And, yes, this means you. If you really have issues with the lj-cut, please tell me, I'll shunt you off my default friends list. I really don't want to have to do that. I like all youse guys.

And asked me about my "English" accent.

I do not have an English accent.
I do not have a British accent.
I once cornered a pair of English ladies and asked them.
They said I sound very American.
I grew up in New York.
My dad was Texan.
I DO NOT HAVE A FOREIGN ACCENT WHILE LIVING IN THE US!

So why on earth do people think otherwise?
