Every time something like this happens on LJ

(And face it, we were overdue for a big fiasco) people go "Oh, I'm gonna move!" and a few of them actually complete the process.

And you know, I always intend to keep up with my moved friends on DW (which, incidentally, does not require invite codes for the rest of the year), and I never do.

So if anybody has moved over to DW and wants me to friend them, or thinks I'd like to know, please - post your username!

I, of course, am conuly wherever I am. (Except when I'm not, but that's another story.)

Yeah, it's not even that I particularly care about the comment system (although I do see other people's points, especially those with headaches and eyestrain), but this is one more example of LJ ignoring and ignoring and ignoring.

I'm not leaving the people I know on LJ, but in truth, the only reason I have a paid account there is because somebody else bought it for me as a gift. I'll spend my paid money here.

I read DW first every day, then I log into LJ. DW's a pleasure to read through but LJ gets to be more and more of a chore in technical terms. If it weren't for the fact that I have 10x the active friends who post only on LJ, I'd be there hardly at all.

I seem to remember you saying once that you never remembered to read your reading page on DW. Is that still the case/are you going to try to read it? I'm under the impression you still mostly just read your LJ friends page because I see you comment on other people's LJ posts but not DW posts.

Yeah, I don't have any accessibility issues (though I do prefer subject lines and being able to check other people's icon keywords by hovering), but it's unconscionable to ignore those who do.

And while consistently awful customer service is one thing, it seems that condescending smilies cross some line I didn't know I had, one that takes priority even over a permanent account. X D;

We should start a Hilari Bell comm here! Three members is more than enough.

This seems a good place as any to mention: I don't know if you're aware that your profile info on DW looks like it hasn't been modified to reflect the fact that your DW account is not your LJ account. For instance, it says you're a maintainer of asperger. I believe you're a maintainer of asperger, but not of asperger.

But yeah, I know what you mean. A lot of inertia at play here, like no one really wants to go through the effort to transfer over to a new site when they've built up a years-long history on the original one. As for me, I'm not even going to bother porting any of my entries to there (although I still need to get off my arse and archive them, just in case).
