Evangeline has the runs. This is annoying. What is even *more* annoying is that I am among the many who cannot spell "diarrhea" correctly in the first shot.

Please - if you can't spell "diarrhea" and don't want to look it up, don't even try. Just call it "the runs" or "the squirts" or "really watery poo" or "help me god now" or whatever you want, just so long as it's something you can spell correctly.

Until a year or two ago, I couldn't spell it without looking it up, either... What finally worked was when I memorized it based on one sound at a time -- like "di-ar-rhea" (or "di-arrh-ea" or similar) -- in case that might possibly help you. It was easier to avoid mixing the "arrhea" up wildly that way, since it gave me a firmer grip on why the letters are in that order. :)

It's good I learned it that way, too... With the sheer number of people that spell it "--reah" I'd have started having problems if I'd learned it the traditional way, I suspect. It has certainly been an issue with other words I never had problems with in the past, but see mis-spelled all the time online.

Huh. I would have warned you about that, but I thought she got it out of her last night. :-/ (And *thank gods* I got her on the toilet last night just after she started - guaranteed that diaper would not have held...!!)

Luckily, I do know how to spell it, so after my first moment of panic (that is, my *second* moment of panic - my first was dealing with the shit) I can respell it correctly.

But man, is it an awkward word. Phlegm is easier because it's so messed up.
