Random babies stuffs....

1. Ana gave herself a time-out today. I told her to stop doing something, but apparently that wasn't enough, so she declared that she was giving herself a time-out and, uh, did so.

She also threatened to give *me* a time-out for talking to her when she was having a time-out. Because we Do Not Talk When Having a Time-out. Good on the concept, bad on the execution - she hasn't yet grasped that she doesn't have the authority.

2. Before Jenn got home, I had put the baby on my back. We're in the bathroom, by the mirror, and I'm chattering away about how "Mommy will be home soon". Then I see, in the mirror (and right next to my eye - she was leaning forwards) the baby going "Milkmilkmilk". (Milk means Mommy, which I think is absolutely hysterical.) So I went "Yeah, Mommy! And she'll be home soon!"

At this, the baby started waving. "Yeah... we'll say hi to her?"

Nodnodnodnod.

...

I just had a conversation. With a baby. This is so surreal, I had to post about it sometime.

3. Baby also told me 'kay, uh-huh, and uh-uh several times. Appropriately, as in "Do you want to go up?" or "Do you want more?" and she'd either participate or fuss depending on what she said.

I thought yes and no were harder concepts...?
