The baby is nine months old!

This is where she is right now!
And again

Well, she crawls a lot. She especially tags after Ana, and cries if Ana leaves, even if her big sister has accidentally been tormenting her ("I just hugging!!!!"). I swear, she's trying to say "Ana, Ana, Ana!" half the time, and if that's not one of her very first words, I'll be stunned.

She can stand up a lot better than Ana or Seth did at this age. Of course, those two had actual furniture to hold on to. Evangeline, if she wants to raise up above a crouch, she has to let go. And she does! And then she'll clap, or look around! It's so terrifying! Please make it stop! Just the other day, we're at the fire truck in the SICM, and she pulls herself up so she's got her hands on the second step, and her feet on the ground. Turn around for a few seconds, next thing I know, she's standing on the first step holding on to nuthin' but the thin air. And grinning this fearsome grin of death. Or joy. But more likely death and terror, which is the feeling this scene evoked in me.

She'll eat anything she thinks she can get away with, which means we're watching her constantly. I'm constantly checking her mouth "just in case", scared to death she's chewing on something other than her own spit.

More legitimately, she'll eat most fruits and a good variety of veggies, all mashed up.

She rides on my hip a lot in the kanga, loves that thing. Ana likes it too, when she gets a chance to go in it.

Her naps are shorter, and she stays up longer between times. But she's still tired, so I don't know. *le sigh*

She loves the "Connie just put something on her head! And then it fell down!" game, especially when I then put the whatever-it-is on her head. I've caught her trying to stick stuff on her own head :) Also loves "flying", and "falling down" and being tickled, and playing with her sister.

She looks like she prefers some books to others, but only time can tell.

She can walk if we hold her hands, but only sometimes. Doesn't cruise more than a few steps. Crawls everywhere. Especially chasing Ana.

She smiles a lot - she's a very happy, grinny baby.

She's got six teeth.

She understands her name is "Evangeline" or "Eva", and she definitely understands "Come here" and "No" at least some of the time.

Ana is a lot like me when I was around her age. She does things I remember doing - collecting rocks, pretending to be the Statue of Liberty, reciting capitals... okay, the last was more about my parents than me, but still! She knows four capitals now! England, Belgium, Canada, Ethiopia. Next we'll either do Australia, which is fun to say, or Turkey, because Deniz' family is Turkish.

She hops. She really hops. And she's grown taller - just a few months ago, she had to jump to hit the elevator call button in Jenn's office, now she barely goes up on her tiptoes. And she sings little songs to herself. And I know she can read some words, even if she's loath to admit such a thing.

And I must upload the icon Liz made for me, but I'll see if Jenn wants it first. I'd rather mine said "Sisters", anyway, but I didn't realize that until just now.
